Starting Lineups for the Yankees and Red Sox — ALWCS G2
Boston looks to stay alive; New York looks to end the series in short order.
NEW YORK — The Yankees and the Red Sox are gearing up for the second game of their winner-take-all three-game series. New York holds a 1-0 series advantage after their dominant Game 1 performance.
Boston will turn to RHP Sonny Gray (18-5, 2.72) to save their season. Gray has history with the Yankees in the past, including pitching in their rotation and not being successful. For New York, it will be LHP Max Fried (5-5, 2.80), who they were seriously considering to pitch the opener. Fried has been hurt this season but has put up strong performances against Boston in the past.
This will be another marquee pitching matchup for two teams that have a history of marquee matchups.
First pitch will be at 8:15 PM ET on NBC or Peacock.
