The Yankees mustered up just two baserunners through the first three, both on infield singles. They have more hits tonight than they did against Sonny Gray in June, so progress?

The Yankees have still not put too much pressure on Gray in the game, and now they start the second time through the lineup. The hope is that the big bats in the Yankees lineup can come through at some point, but so far, they are coming up empty.

Ben Rice looked behind for the second at-bat after having success against Sonny Gray early in his career, though he just missed a two-run home run; instead, it was a deep flyout for the second out of the frame.
