Cam Schlittler's Fifth Inning — ALWCS G1

The fifth inning showed Schlittler issue his first walk of the ballgame, with a lot of non-competitive pitches and balls outside the strike zone, which is uncharacteristic for Schlittler.

Prior to the walk, Schlittler had retired 13 in a row. He threw 25 pitches in the fifth inning. The Red Sox batters were getting good looks at his pitches.

He ended up getting Trevor Story to line out to center to end the inning.

He's been worked hard in the outing, throwing 89 pitches through just five innings of work. The Yankees bullpen will be a big factor in this one and could be as early as the sixth inning. Some more runs from his offense would help.
